Bruce & Cherith live in Bonita Springs, FL. Prior to Florida, they lived in Ecuador 1981 to 2019.
Bruce serves as president of Life Giving Water International, representing LGWI in the US, directing the overall ministry, and coordinating with the team in Ecuador. Cherith serves by editing mission publications, discipleship, praying, counseling, and teaching seminars. We enjoy canoeing, kayaking, nature walks, visiting historic areas, hiking and travel together. Bruce bikes as much as he can and still does occasional mountain climbs in Ecuador.
As the daughter of missionary parents, Cherith grew up in Ecuador and Colombia. Bruce, a civil engineer, has worked on a variety of projects in the US, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, and Kenya, but water is his primary focus. We began working on rural water systems with HCJB Community Development in 1989. That ministry grew and the community accomplishments invigorated all of us. The people of Miraflores Cochapamba, inspired by the obvious Divine provision of desperately needed clean water for their community in 1999, formed CODEINSE in 2009 to help other communities and experience the faith journey as they had. We joined the CODEINSE team in 2014 and the following year Life Giving Water International came into being to support their ministry.
Our favorite aspects of being involved with LGWI:
Seeing the LORD powerfully provide for wonderful hardworking rural people with the clean water they need.
Experiencing the faith journey together with humble rural communities, trusting the LORD to guide and provide for their water needs.
The gratitude expressed by communities for the help received.
The fellowship of serving together with an inspired international team committed to excellence in serving rural communities.
The opportunity to make an impact in terms of the gospel message and better health.
